I have a calm, compassionate yet direct approach. I believe we all have a purpose - and when we’re able to connect with that purpose, we are able to live more satisfying, joyful lives. My own purpose is to serve others through supporting you to ease your suffering and heal your heart. I help you find your inspiration and purpose to move forward by:
awakening your awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and body sensations
connecting with different parts of yourself - even the ones that seem scary
deepening your self-compassion
healing from your past
Together we will explore your thoughts, your emotions, and your body sensations. We do this through developing and utilizing mindfulness - your awareness of or noticing what is happening within you in the present moment without judgment.
To create the change that you desire, it is necessary to recognize what your current patterns and ways of doing things are, not just by talking in sessions, but also throughout moments in your daily life when it’s happening. This awareness of yourself provides the foundation from which change can occur. To facilitate this change, we will often identify things for you to notice or practice between sessions.
This awareness - without judgment - also helps to build compassion. Compassion is something I hold in sessions for you, as well as help you foster within yourself to promote your own healing process. Often times, we might be able to have compassion for others, but it can be difficult to hold and deepen that compassion for ourselves.
While I tend to focus mostly on the present moment, there are times when it can be helpful to explore our history and how it has impacted parts of our development. We will challenge old coping skills and beliefs that we developed to survive the past, but that no longer serve us. We will also utilize various therapeutic modalities, such as Brainspotting, to heal from these traumatic experiences and difficult emotions.
